.GR.COM - a new domain extension - is being launched via a Phased Roll-Out, from November 30 for registered trademark holders seeking domain names matching their marks, and from January 10, 2011 for all other registrants.

Registrations of .GR.COM domains are totally unrestricted. Anyone, residing in any country, may register as many as they want. Expected customers include:

• Anyone wanting keyword domains
• Any organization using the word "Group" in its name
• Greek and Cypriot registrants
• Anyone wishing to do business in Greece or Cyprus
• Registrants in Grand Rapids, Michigan

.GR.COM is the nineteenth domain extension combining a country code with the .COM suffix, and like .US.COM, .EU.COM, .CN.COM and the others, it will be available globally through the leading quality registrars and resellers including Network Solutions, eNom, register.com and Key Systems.

CentralNic, the company launching the new .GR.COM domain extension, is releasing it to Trademark owners from November 30 partnering with ClearingHouse for Intellectual Property to manage the process, and Deloitte as the Trademark validation agent. Then from January 10, 2011, interested parties will be able to acquire the most desirable .GR.COM domains, with domains with multiple interested buyers going to auction. The remaining domains will become available on a first-come-first-served basis from February 8, 2011.
